Christine Serrano Glassner solidifies front-runner status with wins in Hunterdon and Union County conventions
MENDHAM, NJ (Morris County) — Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner, the frontrunner for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate in New Jersey, secured her second GOP county convention victory in as many nights after winning Union County one night after an impressive win in Hunterdon County.
The victories – both of which she secured by substantial margins over her nearest competitor, with over 60% of the combined vote – give Serrano Glassner significant momentum as the GOP primary campaign begins in earnest.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the support of the men and women who voted for me over the past two nights, and I’m humbled by the confidence they’re placing in me to be the Republican Party’s nominee for Senate. I look forward to taking on the corrupt Democrat machine in November and winning,” Glassner said. “The voters have been clear – they want a strong conservative who will defend our shared values and win.”
“New Jersey has not elected a Republican to the Senate since 1972, and we have never elected a woman to represent us in that chamber,” Glassner siad.. “This year, we’re going to change that.”
Glassner’s candidacy has been buoyed further by endorsements from several influential state party leaders, including Representative Tom Kean, State Senator Jon Bramnick, Assemblywoman Michele Matsikoudis, and Assemblywoman Nancy Muñoz.
