Commissioner Director Ciesla, Commissioner Kern join ‘Ending Hunger is Music to our Ears’ celebration at Warren County ShopRite
GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Warren County Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla and Commissioner James R. Kern III joined the “Ending Hunger is Music to our Ears” celebration at the Greenwich Township ShopRite, which honored two store workers – Donna Keeler and Julie Niski – that were crucial in helping to raise awareness to help fight hunger.
“ShopRite has always been a great community partner, constantly donating to our local community groups and organizations and we cannot thank them enough for helping our food banks provide nourishment for those who need it most,” Ciesla said.
Through the collection of donations at checkout, stores across the region were able to raise more than $1 million to support the food banks in the communities that ShopRite serves.
The Greenwich ShopRite contributed its donations to the local Food Bank operated by NORWESCAP in Phillipsburg. Norwescap Food Bank was recognized as a frontline partner in the fight against hunger in the area.
“ShopRite truly is a partner in caring,” Kern said. “Today’s donation to NORWESCAP will go far in building security for those who need access to nutritional food in our community. Thank you to ShopRite, the Colalillo family, General Mills, and NORWESCAP for your efforts in the fight to end hunger.”
