LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – The public is invited to hear the latest information on the proposal for a new Lafayette Post Office at a March 5 meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Lafayette Township Municipal Building, located at 33 Morris Farm Road.

At the meeting, postal officials will provide a comprehensive overview of the proposal to identify a new post office location, invite questions, and solicit input.

Written comments about the proposal may also be submitted for 30 days after the March 5 public meeting. The written comments should be addressed to: Kurtis Bullard, Real Estate Specialist, United States Postal Service, P.O. Box 27497, Greensboro NC 27498-1103

Postal operations at the former Lafayette Post Office, located at 96 State Route 15, were temporarily suspended on Aug. 16, 2019 as a result of the aging condition of the 1,118 sq. ft. leased facility. There was no effect on rural mail delivery to street addresses. The 144 Lafayette Post Office Box customers are picking-up their mail at the nearby Augusta Post Office.
