Congressman Kean issues statement on Alabama IVF ruling

NEW JERSEY – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. released the following statement after a recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling decided that frozen embryos can be legally viewed as children according to state law.

The decision has sparked concerns about potential impacts on in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures:

“As a leader in healthcare policy for over two decades, I find the recent court decision in Alabama outlawing IVF deeply concerning. My longstanding commitment to ensuring access to and coverage of medical treatments, including IVF, underscores the importance of individuals having the ability to seek proper care, and I will continue advocating for policies that protect IVF,” Congressman Kean stated. “My record on this issue is clear and so are Sue Altman’s dishonest intentions. It is disappointing, but voters should expect her to continue to lie about me, even for the most minor political victory on social media.”
