Congressman Kean urges Biden administration to stop ban on American LNG exports

WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) along with 150 House Republicans sent the Biden Administration a letter, urging the President to stop the ban on American liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, a decision that jeopardizes the stability and affordability of natural gas domestically.

In addition to the letter, Congressman Kean spoke on the House Floor, intensifying his position on the matter.

On January 26, 2024, President Biden froze the approval process for new U.S. LNG export sites, prioritizing the wishes of radical activist over U.S. energy security and the security of U.S. allies.

“The freeze on U.S. LNG export sites is hurting our economy, jobs, and energy independence,” Kean said. “American LNG is cleaner and more efficient than natural gas produced in other nations. In its blocking of LNG exports, the Biden Administration is only hurting Americans.”
