Construction begins on Schooley’s Mountain Road Bridge

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Schooley’s Mountain Road Bridge refurbishment will begin on June 1 and is not expected to be immediately affect traffic.

Beginning on Wednesday, June 14, the southbound lane will be closed and southbound traffic will be detoured. The northbound lane will remain open for June and July.

Then on Tuesday, August 1, both southbound and northbound lanes will be closed, resulting in complete closure and detours for both directions of traffic.

There will be temporary traffic signal locations in place where Flocktown and Fairview intersect with Naughright Road in an effort to alleviate traffic congestion.

The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of August 2023.
