County College of Morris President Anthony J. Iacono recognized in ROI Influencers: Power List 2021 — Higher Education
RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – County College of Morris (CCM) President Tony Iacono joins an esteemed group of New Jersey presidents in higher education who have been named to ROI Influencers: Power List 2021. Iacono was chosen for the third year in a row for his leadership in opening the college’s Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center (AMEC) in Fall Semester 2020. The state-of-the-art facility meets the demand of the state’s burgeoning manufacturing industries.
“I am honored to be named by ROI-NJ in the Influencers Power List and to be among an exceptional group of colleagues,” Iacono said. “The greatest influences are our industry partners, students and faculty, who have accomplished so much under these unique circumstances. The CCM team and industry leaders wanted to ensure that our students were equipped with the best tools, robotics and equipment to thrive and succeed.”
Despite the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 31,500-square foot facility was constructed in record time with the assistance of state, county and private funding, including the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders and local businesses. AMEC was constructed to provide a pipeline of new employees and to update the skills of current employees.
CCM offers training in degree and certificate programs. Most recently, the U.S. Department of Labor awarded CCM a $4 million four-year grant to provide a model for the expansion of apprenticeship programs in advanced manufacturing.
