Day 2 of Hackettstown’s Oktoberfest to feature, barrel tapping with Mayor Jerry DiMaio, Philly Pretzel eating contest, wiener dog race, music and more

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown’s Oktoberfest runs 3 days, from Friday, Sept. 29, through Sunday, Oct. 1. Join the Hackettstown Business Improvement District, Czig Meister Brewing Company (106 Valentine St), Man Skirt Brewing Company (144 Main St), and Bea McNally’s (109 Grand Ave) as they host events throughout the course of the weekend.

Here are the activities and music scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30:

  • ALL DAY – Activities for Kids and Families – Rock Climbing. Face Painting and Fairy Hair (Corner of Grand and Main St)
  • ALL Day – Axe Throwing (Czig Meister) lower lot
  • ALL Day –Beer Truck, German Inspired Food Offerings and Games at Grand Avenue Tavern ~ Axe Throwing w/ Axe Em Out (2-6pm), Open Corn Hole, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four, Bounce House
  • 12:30 – Barrel Tapping with Mayor DiMaio (Czig Meister)
  • 12:00-3:00 – The Hollow Trio (Czig Meister)
  • 12:00-4:00 ~ HHS Cheerleaders; Performances and selling HHS Tiger Spirit Wear
  • 1:00 – German Dancers (Main Street)
  • 1:00-4:00~Book Signing at Lulu’s Book Nook  (206 Main St.)
  • 1:30 – 4:30 -Peter and the Wolf-Gang (Main Street and Grand)
  • 2:00 – German Dancers (Grand Avenue Tavern)
  • 2:00 – 4:00pm –Roaming Oompah Band
  • 3:00 – Wiener Dog Race (Czig Meister) lower lot
  • 3:00 – German Dancers (Man Skirt)
  • 4:00 – German Dancers (Czig)
  • 4:30 – Philly Pretzel Eating Contest (Valentine Street)
  • 5:00 – Beer Stein Hold WOMAN’S Competition (Man Skirt)
  • 5:00 – Tony Caggiano (Man Skirt)
  • 5:00 -Guitar Giveaway at Me to You Boutique. Enter all day to win. (206 Main St.)
  • 5:30-8:00 – Stella G’s Oktoberfest Buffet – Reservations Only (please call ahead)
  • 5:30 – 8:30 – Live Music (Grand Avenue Tavern)
  • 6:00 – Grain Bag Toss (Czig Meister) Lower lot
  • 7:00 – Stein Hold MEN’s Competition (Man Skirt)
  • 6:30 – 9:30 – Mike Frank and Friends (Czig Meister)
  • 10:00-2am – DJ Napz and Crew– (Grand Avenue Tavern-inside)

Jay Edwards

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker.
