Deputy Director Kuhl attends appreciation brunch honoring Hunterdon County Human Services volunteers

KINGWOOD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Commissioner Deputy Director Jeff Kuhl on Thursday attended a Volunteer Appreciation Brunch, sponsored by the Hunterdon County Department of Human Services, at Razberry’s Banquet Center, in Kingwood Township.

Volunteers were celebrated as a vital part of the Human Services Division and recognized by staff for their countless hours of selfless service.

Deputy Director Kuhl, and liaison for the Department of Human Services said, “On behalf of myself and the Commissioners Board I want to thank all the volunteers that regularly assist the Department of Human Services in their many programs. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed and today we celebrate and acknowledge all of you. I know that many of the volunteers are also residents of Hunterdon County, and their continued commitment and dedication shows how much they care about our community and the collective success of the seniors who reside here. Thank you!”

Among the various volunteer services honored at the event were the Art Committee associates, Volunteer Drivers, “Mr. Fixit” members, Senior Center participants, and State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Counselors.

Division Head for Social Work Services, Susan Nekola spoke on behalf of the Department of Human Services said, “From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank the volunteers for all they do for our seniors. Your generous service and volunteering of time allows for our seniors to be creative and learn, live safely in their homes, get to where they need to go, and have peace of mind in knowing there is expert guidance available when needed. In short, you help our seniors thrive and we are truly grateful.”

Jay Edwards

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher. Jay has been a guest on America’s Morning Headquarters,program on The Weather Channel, and was interviewed by Sam Champion.
