Did you know that porcupine cribs were installed into Mountain Lake?

MOUNTAIN LAKE, NJ (Warren County) – In October 2019, the Liberty Township Environmental Commission  partnered with Muskies Inc. and NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife on a project to install porcupine cribs into Mountain Lake, according to the Liberty Township Environmental Commission.

The four cribs were installed in October 2019 and 20 more are scheduled to be installed at a later date.

The porcupine cribs are wooden structures designed to provide shelter and feeding opportunities for small fish which will ultimately enhance the fish population within the lake.

Mountain Lake is the first lake in New Jersey to utilize porcupine cribs for fish habitat enhancements.
