Dog rescued from Hunterdon County playground after paw got stuck

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – It’s not always people that the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad rescues.

On Friday, at around 10:30 p.m., the rescue squad responded to the playground area at the Raritan Town Square on Route 31 in Raritan Township for a dog with its paw stuck in the playground equipment, according to a post on the squad’s Facebook page.

EMT Jaime Fahey and Firefighter/EMT Jason Strauss responded to assist and found 6-month-old Bella the dog with her paw stuck in the floor of a piece of playground equipment, officials said.

With the assistance of her owners and a bottle of olive oil, Bella’s paw was oiled up and gently “unstuck” from the predicament, the squad said.

The crew was available in about twenty minutes, the post said.
