Driver arrested for DWI after found passed out behind the wheel in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) –  A driver was charged after he was found passed out behind the wheel early Thursday afternoon in Hackettstown.

On March 2, at around 11:59 a.m., police responded to Lawrence Drive for a report of a male passed out behind the wheel and blocking a residential driveway, police said.

Upon arrival, officers observed a male slumped to his right side and asleep. Officers were able to wake up the driver, who was identified as Lerrenzo J. Davis, 41, of Newark. While the officer was talking to Davis; the officer allegedly detected the odor an alcoholic beverage, police said.

Davis was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath test, and parking in front of a driveway. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
