Driver charged with DWI after crashing into utility pole

FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County woman has been charged with DWI after she crashed into a utility pole Friday morning.

Randi Lake, 52, of Sussex was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath tests, and several motor vehicle offenses.

The single vehicle crash happened on June 7 at 12:01 a.m. on Route 517 in Franklin Borough, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Lake, was traveling north on Route 517 coming from Sparta, NJ, when it left its lane of travel, striking a utility pole, and eventually coming to rest facing south in the north bound lane, police said.

No injuries were reported. The road was closed for approximately forty-five minutes and caused no significant delays, police said.

Lake was allegedly intoxicated and charged. She was released pending a court appearance.
