MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Mansfield Township woman was charged in connection with a head-on crash that occurred in June, police said Monday.
The crash happened on June 1, at 8:54 p.m. on Rockport Road. The driver of one of the vehicle’s, who was only identified as a 22-year-old Mansfield Township woman, was unconscious and unresponsive and had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire and rescue, police said.
She was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Two occupants of the second vehicle received “moderate/minor” injuries and were transported to Hackettstown Medical Center for treatment and evaluation, police said.
Police determined that the 22-year-old woman was traveling at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed over the double yellow lines and struck the oncoming vehicle, police said.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lanes and careless driving. The victims did not wish to pursue assault by auto charges, police said.
