Driver charged with DWI, careless driving in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Somerset County man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated and careless driving in Readington Township.

On Wednesday, February 9, at around 11:15 p.m., officers stopped Daniel Mantz, 32, of Bridgewater Township for failure to maintain his lane on Route 22, police said.

While police spoke to Mantz, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. He failed the officers field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI, police said.

Mantz was issued a summons for DWI, careless driving and failure to maintain lane, police said.
