Driver dies after car leaves road, overturns, strikes tree on I-80 in Morris County

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, NJ (Morris County) – One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Morris County Friday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry.

The crash occurred at 10:51 p.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound in the local lanes at milepost 45 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, Curry said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Saab 93, driven by Kevin Barradas, 21, of Dover, was traveling east on Interstate 80 when the car went off the road to the right, impacted a road marker, overturned, and impacted a tree, Curry said.

Barradas suffered fatal injuries, Curry said.

The exit lane for Exit 45 was closed for approximately two hours, Curry said.

The crash remains under investigation, Curry siad.
