Driver dies in single-vehicle crash in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A driver died of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning in Sussex County, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair.

The crash happened on Nov. 6, at around 10:35 a.m., on County Route 565 at milepost 0.8 in Frankford Township, McNair said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Nissan pickup truck was traveling northbound on County Route 565 when the driver lost directional control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway and struck a tree, McNair said.

The driver, whose identity was not released, suffered serious injuries and was flown to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, McNair said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, McNair said.
