Driver flown to hospital after single-vehicle crash in Morris County
ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Pennsylvania man was flown to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Rockaway Township, according New Jersey State Police spokesperson Charles Marchan said.
The crash happened at 3:02 p.m. on Interstate 80 west at exit 35A in Rockaway Township, Marchan said.
Based on a preliminary police investigation, a silver Dodge Ram while exiting I-80 at exit 35A struck a guardrail, traveled up an embankment impacting a light pole. The vehicle then traveled over Mount Hope Avenue and over a guardrail, Marchan said.
The driver, who was identified as George L. Rodriguez, 51, of Slatington, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, Marchan said.
