Driver hospitalized after tractor-trailer hauling diesel fuel overturns down embankment on I-80 in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The driver of a tractor-trailer carrying diesel fuel was injured after the vehicle overturned down an embankment on Interstate 80 on Tuesday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Troy McNair.

The crash happened at around 12:26 p.m. on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 19.4 in Allamuchy Township, McNair said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Volvo tractor-trailer hauling diesel fuel was traveling westbound on I-80 when the driver lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the right, struck the guardrail, and subsequently overturned down an embankment, McNair said.

The driver suffer minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, McNair. said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, McNair said.
