Driver killed in single-vehicle crash on I-80 in Warren County
HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning claimed the life of an 50-year-old New York woman, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota.
The crash happened at 7:00 a.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 10.4 in Hope Township, Slota said.
A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Toyota Sienna, driven by Ping Chu of Flushing, was travelling eastbound on Interstate 80 when the vehicle struck the left guardrail, re-entered the roadway and crossed all lanes of travel striking the right guardrail before running off the roadway completely and striking multiple trees, Slota said.
Chu suffered fatal injuries due to the crash, Slota said.
