Driver seriously hurt after disabled car is hit by another vehicle on I-78 in Hunterdon County, state police say

LEBANON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A driver was seriously injured Friday night after a vehicle crashed into a disabled car on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Charles Marchan said.

The crash occurred at 10:53 p.m. on Interstate 78 westbound at milepost 20 in Lebanon Borough, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on Interstate 78 in the middle lane and then struck a Toyota minivan that was stopped in the lane due to mechanical issues, Marchan said.

The driver of the Toyota suffered serious injuries and was flown to an area hospital, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information available, Marchan said.
