Driver taken to hospital after dump truck overturns on I-78 in Somerset County

WARREN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A driver was taken to the hospital after a dump truck overturned Thursday on Interstate 78 in Somerset County, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota.

The crash happened at around 6:48 a.m. on Interstate 78 westbound at milepost 40.7 in Warren Township, Slota said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed a dump truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 78 when the driver lost control and the dump truck subsequently overturned, Slota said.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for precautionary reasons, Slota said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Slota said.
