Driver under the influence crashes into tree in Somerset County

BRANCHBURG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A driver under the influence of narcotics crashed into a tree in Branchburg Township last month, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart said on Friday.

The single-vehicle crash happened on March 31, at around 5:50 p.m. in the area of South Branch Road near the Neshanic Valley Golf Course, Taggart said.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Christian Graverson, 44, of Hillsborough Township, who reported that he was not injured, Taggart said.

A further investigation led police to determine that Graverson was under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance(s). He was subsequently arrested and was found to be in possession of heroin, and drug paraphernalia, Taggart said.

Graverson was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of narcotic Paraphernalia, and several motor vehicle summonses which included driving while under the Influence of narcotics. He was later released on his own recognizance pending a court apperneace, Taggart said.
