Drunk driver flees on foot after hitting several parked vehicles

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 22-year-old Budd Lake man was arrested after he allegedly drove into several parked cars then fleeing Sunday night in Mount Olive Township.

On July 12, at 11:10 p.m., police responded to King Arrow Road for the report of numerous vehicles that were hit while parked, police said.

Through his investigation it was determined that the driver, Zachery Shelton, crashed into several vehicles and then fled on foot, police said.

Shelton was located in his home and allegedly showed obvious signs of impairment. He was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

Upon completion he was arrested and charged with, DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident. He was released to a sober family member, pending a court appearance, police said.
