Erratic driver complaint leads to DWI arrest in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Sussex County woman is facing a driving while intoxicated charge after she was allegedly driving erratically in Hackettstown Saturday night.

On Oct. 21, at around 9:46 p.m., police responded to Route 182 for a report of an erratic vehicle, police said.

It was reported that the vehicle was swerving and it appeared the driver may be intoxicated, police said.

The officer located and then stopped the vehicle on Route 517. While the officer was speaking to the driver, who was identified as Mary G. Wiggins, 61, of Andover Township, the officer allegedly detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle, police said.

Wiggins was charged with driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving. She was released pending a court appearance, police said.
