Erratic driver complaint leads to DWI, drug arrest in Byram Township

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man is facing a slew of charges including driving while intoxicated after he was allegedly driving erratically in Byram Township.

On April 20, police received a call about an erratic driver that had turned onto Waterloo Road from Continental Drive. An officer observed the vehicle on Brookwood Road and stopped the vehicle, police said.

While an officer was speaking to the driver, who was identified as Darren J. Glass of Byram Township, the officer felt Glass may be under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, police said.

Glass was arrested for driving while intoxicated and a search of his vehicle produced a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, a glass smoking device and other drug paraphernalia, police said.

Glass was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and unlicensed driver. he was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
