Ex-wife accused of putting recorder in child’s Minnie Mouse stuffed animal to record ex-husband

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown woman is facing charges after she allegedly put a recorder in her child’s Minnie Mouse stuffed animal to record her ex-husband.

Heather Bamford, 33, was charged with wiretap offense and harassment.

On Dec. 15, at around 8:15 p.m., the ex-husband reported to police that his ex-wife placed a recording device in their child’s stuffed animal, police said.

Through a police investigation it was determined that Bamford placed a recording device inside her child’s Minnie Mouse stuffed animal to record her ex-husband without his knowledge, police said.

Bamford then gave the stuffed animal to her child prior to the father picking up his child, police said.

The device was found after he pushed the button on the stuffed animal for it to make noise but instead, he began hearing his child’s voice, police said.

Bamford was charged and released pending a court appearance.
