Fatal crash under investigation in Morris County

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, NJ (Morris County) – Authorities are investigating a fatal car crash which occurred on Route 46 on Tuesday evening, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp.

The crash happened at 6:46 p.m. at the intersection of Route 46 and Baldwin Road, Knapp said.

The investigation revealed a Chevrolet Cruze and a Nissan Altima collided, Knapp said.

The driver of the Cruze suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to Morristown Medical Center, Knapp said.

The driver of the Altima, who was identified as a 60-year-old man from Carlstadt, NJ, was transported to Saint Clare’s Denville Hospital where he later died, Knapp said.

The names of those involved in the crash were not released.

The crash is under investigation by the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department Traffic Bureau, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
