FedEx driver killed in Sussex County crash

VERNON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A FedEx driver was killed in a crash Saturday afternoon in Vernon Township.

On October 30, at 1:20 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle crash on County Route 565 in the s-turn just north of Lake Panorama, police said.

Police said the FedEx truck had overturned and the driver was trapped inside. Upon arrival, officers found that the driver had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The roadway was closed for several hours due to the motor vehicle crash investigation, police said.

Pochuck Fire Department, McAfee Fire Department, Vernon Township Fire Department, Highland Lakes Fire Department, Glenwood Pochuck Ambulance Squad, and St. Claire’s Paramedics assisted at the scene.
