Firefighters extinguish small brush fire in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County)— Firefighters extinguished a small brush fire Monday afternoon in Hackettstown, according to police.

The fire was reported at around 12:22 p.m. on The Trail, located in the Rustic Knolls section of the town, police said.

Officers arrived on scene and observed approximately a 50 X 50 foot area on fire, police said.

The Hackettstown Fire Department was able to quickly get the brush fire under control, police said.

The NJ Forest Fire Service determined that discarded ashes from a wood burning stove caused the fire, police said.

No injuries were reported and a shed received minor damage, police said.
