Flemington man killed in crash on Route 31 in Hunterdon County

LEBANON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Flemington man was killed in a motor vehicle crash on Route 31 in Lebanon Township Wednesday night, according to Hunterdon County Acting Prosecutor Michael J. Williams.

The crash happened at around 6:09 p.m. on Route 31 near Rocky Run Road.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Ford Taurus station wagon driven by Douglas Ivie, 34, was traveling north on Route 31 and for an unknown reason he crossed over into the southbound lane and struck a 2020 Volvo tractor trailer, Williams said.

Ivie was pronounced deceased at the scene, Williams said.

“Our condolences go out to the Ivie family and friends of Mr. Ivie during this difficult time,” Williams said.

The accident is being investigated by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office’s Forensic Analysis Collision Team and the Lebanon Township Police Department. Assisting at the scene were the Lebanon and High Bridge Fire Departments, the Lebanon Rescue Squad, and the New Jersey State Police Incident Management Unit.”
