Former Belvidere Police Chief passes away
BELVIDERE, NJ (Warren County) – Former Belvidere Police Chief Robert Richard Yeisley passed away on April 16 after a lengthy illness.
Robert grew up in Phillipsburg and graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1973. He graduated from the Morris County Police Academy and retired with over 30 years in law-enforcement, according to his obituary.
He began his career in Washington Borough, but spent 28 years protecting and serving the residence of the Town of Belvidere, completing his career with the rank of Chief of Police, his obituary said.
Robert was the son of the late Warren and Dolores (Thatcher) Yeisley. He is survived by his wife, Teresa of Belvidere, sisters Valerie Wilson (Butch) of Palmer Township, Lori, Hammon of Phillipsburg and Cheryl Shuppe of Belvidere. Sons, Robert (Erin) of Belvidere, James of Phillipsburg, David and Ronald (Tracy) of Saylorsburg. Grandchildren, Kirsten, Kaylee, Jordan, Cameron, Ethan, Elleahna, Alexis, Lenna, and Charlotte, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, his obituary said.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a Time of Remembrance at 7:30 p.m. at the Rupell Funeral Home 465 Memorial Parkway, in Phillipsburg.
Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Good Will Fire Company of Belvidere or the Belvidere Ambulance Corps.
