Funeral arrangements set for Hackettstown pastor who died of rare brain disease

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A visitation will be held Friday, May 28 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 213 Main Street in Hackettstown, to honor the life of Dr. Rev. Frank Fowler.

Fowler, senior pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church, died from Creutzfeldt Jacob Disease (CJD) Friday afternoon, according to Pastor Debra A. De Vos.

A few months ago Fowler’s health took an unexpected turn and as he sought answers and a diagnosis, his symptoms continued to advance very quickly. Ultimately, Fowler was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt Jacob Disease (CJD), a rapidly, progressing neurodegenerative brain disease, De Vos said.

“He was surrounded by his wife and daughters as he peacefully transitioned home,” De Vos said.

A funeral service will also be held on Saturday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the Trinity Church Sanctuary with Bishop John Schol, presiding. In addition to the sanctuary, the service may be viewed in the Rotunda, Starr Hall, the KidZone, and Trinity House as well as Centenary University.
