Girl riding bicycle fatally struck by pickup truck in Somerset County

BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A girl riding her bicycle at a Bridgewater Township intersection was fatally struck by a pickup truck on Saturday.

The crash happened at the intersection of Fulton Street and 3rd Street shortly after 6:00 p.m., police said.

Police said a 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck, driven by Maria A Toribio, 22, of Bridgewater Township, was traveling north on Fulton Street when she struck the girl at the intersection of 3rd Street.

The girl was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Somerset where she was pronounced dead, police said.

This crash is still under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
