GoFundMe set up for Budd Lake family who lost everything in house fire
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A GoFundMe has been set up for a Budd Lake family who lost everything in a house fire Sunday night.
According to the Budd Lake Fire Department’s Facebook page, the fire started shortly before midnight on Sunday at a residence on Bridle Lane in the Budd Lake section of the township for a report of a house fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they reported a working fire and transmitted a second-alarm.
Mutual Aid arrived and provided a rapid intervention crew and additional man power. The fire was knocked down within a half hour but crews remained on scene for 3 hours hitting hot spots and overhaul.
There were no injuries reported.
The GoFundMe was created by Emily Lloyd, who says, the Lloyd family endured a devastating loss of their beloved home to a house fire. Thankfully everyone is safe including their fur babies but they have lost everything, including a car. Our hopes are to raise emergency funds for them for the time being. If anything, please send a lot of prayers for them as they navigate through this horrific time.
“The family is left without anything. Any help which you can add to their go fund me page and help the family move forward is greatly appreciated,” Mount Olive Township Mayor Rob Greenbaum wrote in a Facebook post.
The GoFundMe has set a goal of $40,000 for the Lloyd family. As of Wednesday morning, it has raised nearly $32,000.
