Gottheimer convenes women’s healthcare roundtable

NORTH JERSEY — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) and healthcare leaders, advocates, experts, and local officials came together for a roundtable discussion.

The group focused on actions to protect women’s right to choose, heart health, cancers and diseases impacting women, general health and wellness, and access and affordability of care.

Roundtable participants included Englewood Health Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs Dr. Hillary Cohen, Newton Medical Center and Hackettstown Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Geralda Xavier, Atlantic Health System Women’s & Children’s Services Executive Director Joanna L. Wright, Hackensack University Medical Center Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Lisa Tank, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center SVP of Operations and Long Term Care Administrator Katie Richardson, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Donnalee Corrieri, Planned Parenthood of Northern New Jersey VP Public Affairs Kaitlyn Wojtowicz, Women’s Rights Information Center Program Director Lisa Maurer, Corissa Weaver with Women for Choice, NJ Assemblywoman Shama Haider (NJ-37), Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Zur, Oradell Council President Tracy Schoenburg, Closter Councilwoman Jannie Chung, Closter Councilwoman Dolores Witko, and Englewood Councilwoman Dr. Lisa Wisotsky.

Last year, at Hackensack Health Center’s Planned Parenthood, Gottheimer announced action to protect a woman’s right to choose, including against legislative threats to in vitro fertilization (IVF), to protect women’s data and privacy on reproductive health apps, and to push to fully codify Roe v. Wade in federal law.
