Gottheimer joins congressional delegation to Israel with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries

Celebrating Israel's 75th Anniversary and Recognizing Yom HaZikaron

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), Co-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, traveled to Israel with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other congressional leaders.

The delegation traveled to Israel — America’s most vital ally in the Middle East — to commemorate Israel’s 75th anniversary and participate in Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. Gottheimer and the delegation toured Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and honored the memory of the victims of the Holocaust in a wreath laying ceremony.

The delegation also met with key officials and stakeholders at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and the Knesset to discuss strengthening the historic, bipartisan U.S.-Israel relationship.

Gottheimer participated in high-level meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President of Israel Isaac Herzog, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides.

The delegation also took part in a roundtable discussion with Palestinian civil society technology and entrepreneurship leaders and met with the U.S. Embassy Marine Detachment in Jerusalem.
