Gottheimer, Luria, Manning, Phillips lead call for renewed effort to combat surge of antisemitic attacks
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representatives Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), Elaine Luria (VA-2), Kathy Manning (NC-6), and Dean Phillips (MN-3) Wednesday wrote a letter to President Biden supporting efforts to combat the surge of antisemitic rhetoric and violent incidents targeting Jews throughout the United States.
“… when this type of violence and inflammatory rhetoric goes unaddressed, it can fuel increasing hatred and violence, and lead to unspeakable acts against Jews. That is why we need a united, bipartisan, national-level commitment to confront and address the threat of antisemitism head-on,” the Members wrote Wednesday to the President. “Antisemitism is wrong, and it deserves to be unequivocally condemned by all.”
In their letter, the Members also urged the President to swiftly nominate a United States Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism.
