Hackettstown approves cannabis shop to operate on High Street

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown Town Council approves another cannabis retailer in the town.

The town council on Thursday night voted unanimously to approve a class 5 cannabis retail license for ‘High Street Wellness’ which will be located along High Street.

This is the second class 5 retail license approved in the town, after the town council approved one for Hackettstown Dispensary on August 11.

This may be the last such license granted for the town for the foreseeable future. Hackettstown Mayor Jerry DiMaio told RNJ that the council agreed to permit just two cannabis retailers within the town for now.

The permits are still provisional at this time, and this allows the retailers to construct their facilities, but they will need to be inspected and approved by the state before they can stock any product.

DiMaio says that he is unsure when either operation might actually open for business, as that depends on further action by state agencies.
