
Hackettstown High School’s Tuck Everlasting and Warren Hills High School senior win Freddy Awards
EASTON, PA (Northampton County) – Students across 30 high schools from the Lehigh Valley and Warren County were at The State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton Thursday night for the 17th annual Freddy Awards.
The Freddy Awards are to recognize and reward exceptional accomplishments in the production and performance of musical theater in high schools in Lehigh and Northampton Counties, Pennsylvania, and Warren County, New Jersey.
Hackettstown High School’s Tuck Everlasting won a Freddy Award for Outstanding Overall Production by a Smaller School.
Cody Jackson from Warren Hills Regional High School won a Freddy Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his role as Gomez Addams in The Addams Family.
In addition to the Freddy awards, there were also scholarships and community awards handed out:
- Hackettstown High School won the R. Richard Knauss Foundation Cash Award.
- Maria Taglienti from Hackettstown High School and Kaileigh Cagnassola from Warren Hills Regional High School both won the Pennsylvania Youth Ballet/Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley Summer Dance Intensive.
- Phillipsburg High school won the Just Born educational impact award.
- Cody Jackson won the Mowad Turk Specialists Cash Award and the DeSales University Scholarship.
- Caroline Copen from North Warren Regional High School won the Northampton Community College Award.
- Warren Hills Regional High School won the First Commonwealth Credit Union Scholarships.
