Hackettstown man charged with DWI, assault by auto after head-on crash

MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Hackettstown man was charged in connection with a Mendham Township crash that occurred in May, police said Thursday.

On May 17, township police responded to a head-on motor vehicle collision with injuries on Route 24 near the Ralston Firehouse, police said.

As a result of the investigation into that collision, police charged the driver, who was only identified as a 43-year-old Hackettstown man, with driving while intoxicated and assault by auto.

“Luckily, the injuries sustained in this collision were minor, but driving drunk or high is a danger, not only to yourself, but to all of us on the roads. Please drive safe and sober,” police said.
