Hackettstown man killed after crashing into parked tractor-trailer on I-80 in Morris County

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, NJ (Morris County) – A Hackettstown man was killed after crashing into a parked tractor-trailer on I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on I-80 eastbound at milepost 40.4, at 4:13 p.m., New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry said..

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Volvo tractor-trailer was parked in the eastbound right shoulder and a Hyundai, driven by Walter Pasuco, 55, was traveling eastbound when it struck the rear of the tractor-trailer, Curry said.

Pasuco sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, Curry said.

The crash remains under investigation, Curry said.

The right lane of 80 east was closed for approximately 4 hours, Curry said.
