Hackettstown, Mansfield cops take kids shopping during ‘Shop with a Cop’

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Christmas came early for kids in Hackettstown and Mansfield Township as the Hackettstown-Mansfield PBA Local 369 held their annual Shop with a Cop event on Tuesday night.

This is the fourth year the police benevolent association held the event.

At Tuesday’s event, children were paired up with either a Hackettstown Police Department or a Mansfield Township Police Department officer, who helped them select gifts which were paid for by the Hackettstown-Mansfield PBA Local 369.

The shopping spree, which was held at the Walmart in Mansfield Township, put smiles on the children’s faces as they chose gifts for themselves and their family.

The goal of the program is to afford children a better Christmas and to build a positive relationship between local youth and law enforcement, the PBA said.

“We want to thank the Walmart Hackettstown for hosting the event and members of the Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company for helping out during the event,” the PBA said.
