Hackettstown police investigating suspicious incident

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown police are investigating a “suspicious incident” that occurred Thursday afternoon.

On December 16, between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. three young girls were walking from the Hackettstown Middle School and when they were in the area of Centenary University between Second Ave and Third Ave that’s when an older male driving a black Honda Civic stopped the car and stared at the girls, police said.

The girls then ran away, police said.

The vehicle believed to have turned down Second Ave and make a left onto Grand Ave. Police said It’s unknown if the vehicle was attempting to follow the girls.

The older male is described as having an olive skin color, gray beard and wearing a maroon turban, police said.
