Hackettstown’s Maifest brings road closures and parking restrictions

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown’s Maifest will be held this Saturday, May 18 and police are warning motorists that Main Street will be closed between Route 517 (High Street) and Liberty Street.

The road will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., according to Hackettstown Police. Expect traffic delays in the area, police said.

There will be no parking on either side of that portion of Main Street.

There is also no parking on Valentine St from Washington Street to Main Street, Grand Ave from Washington St to Main St, Liberty St from Main St to High St, and Franklin St from High St to Liberty St. Those portions of Valentine St and Grand Ave will also be closed to vehicle traffic.

Police advise that any vehicle parked in a no parking zone will be ticketed and towed.

The annual Maifest will happen from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will feature music, food, libations, contests, activities, along with craft and business vendors. Bea McNally’s, Czig Meister Brewing Co., Man Skirt Brewing, and Homebrew University will host games, contests, live music, drinks, and food during the event.

There will be four platz locations, Beaplatz by Bea McNally’s, Grandplatz by Man Skirt, Valenplatz by Czig Meister, along with a Kinderplatz nearby to host activities for children.

There is no admission fee and everyone is welcome to come celebrate Maifest. Each brewery will feature special Maifest-inspired beer, including a celebratory keg tapping at 12:00 p.m.
