Horse, rider injured after hitting SUV in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A juvenile and a horse were both injured after hitting an SUV in Sussex County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at around 5:08 p.m., on Linn Smith Road in Frankford Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Ford SUV was traveling on Linn Smith Road when in the area of box 13, a juvenile equestrian traveled into the roadway and impacted the side of the vehicle, Marchan said.

As a result of the crash, the juvenile was ejected and suffered serious injuries and the horse suffered moderate injuries, Marchan said.
