
Hundreds turn out for National Night Out in Hackettstown (PHOTOS)
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hundreds turned out Tuesday for Hackettstown’s National Night Out, which is meant to improve relationships between the community and police.
The event was held in the field next to the Hackettstown Community Pool on Warren Street from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Residents had the opportunity to interact with members of the police department in an evening that offered a healthy dose of crime prevention awareness.
Fire, police and rescue units and many other organizations brought information, fire trucks, emergency vehicles, and more to give the public and kids a hands-on experience. The Hackettstown Business Improvement District also held a Wellness Fair.
Mars Wrigley provided treats to visitors. Marley’s Wings and Things on Wheels food truck and Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar provided free food.
The Drill Team, from Puppy-Wuppy Dog Training, in Hackettstown gave a demonstration. The Drill Team was created to educate the public on proper dog behaviors in public, how to create, develop, and illustrate the bond between dog and owner through obedience training and proper socialization.
The Tiger Sports Association Senior Recreation Competition Team also gave a demonstration.
There was free swimming at the community pool from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and a free showing of the movie SING 2 (Sponsored by the Hackettstown Recreation Commission and the Hackettstown Business Improvement District).
