Hunterdon County announces evening appointments for COVID-19 testing starting Nov. 2
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Freeholder Board Director Shaun C. Van Doren has announced that free COVID-19 testing appointments will be available on Mondays, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., for first responders, teachers, critical infrastructure employees, or anyone who has frequent contact with the public while working, starting Monday, November 2.
The COVID-19 testing is administered by the Hunterdon Medical Group (HMG) and is available without prescription at the HMG office, located at 121 Route 31 South, Suite 100, in Raritan Township.
“Expanded testing and contact tracing continue to be effective, key components in the County Department of Health’s successful efforts to contain the spread of the corona virus. The Freeholders have been advised that the appointments for Tuesdays are reaching the limit. We believe that evening hours may be more convenient for some people seeking tests. Should demand grow, the County will look toward added additional days for testing appointments,” van Doren said.
The test site will also continue to be available on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Testing appointments are available for Election Day, November 3, and November 9 and November 10.
Those seeking a COVID-19 test may schedule an appointment by calling 908-237-4230 or emailing
HMGDOTTesting@hhsnj.org.
Freeholder Board Deputy Director Susan J. Soloway, the Board’s Health Department liaison said, “Opening up to more testing is an important step. HMG continues to be a great partner with the County in this effort and we thank them for their cooperation.”
