Hunterdon County Commissioner Soloway leads collection of baby shower items for women veterans
HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Hunterdon County Commissioner, Susan Soloway spearheaded the county collection of Baby Shower Items to be gifted to Women Veterans.
The event, sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Veteran Affairs, will take place on Saturday, June 10, at the Lyons Campus location, and will benefit veterans in their 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy, enrolled in Women’s Health Maternity Care.
“I want to thank everyone who donated to this worthwhile cause. I am absolutely overwhelmed by the generous number of items donated by the employees and residents of Hunterdon County. Collection of items began just last month, and the outpouring of support for our women veterans is truly amazing. What a great way to support our military women and their families,” Soloway said.
Items were collected throughout the month of May at locations throughout the county, including the Administration Building, County Clerk’s Office, the Department of Human Services and two county library locations.
Baby items collected included, infant clothes in all sizes, diapers & baby wipes, books, toys, crib blankets and sheets, and various bottles and nursing items.
“As a mother and grandmother, I know how important it is to have the basic necessities available to care for a newborn infant. I truly hope that many women and their babies benefit from these wonderful gifts,” Soloway said.
