Hunterdon County commissioners recognize USDA Community & Economic Development Director Janis Rega upon her retirement
HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – The Board of County Commissioners Tuesday issued a formal proclamation and sincere congratulations to Janis Rega, Community and Economic Development Director for the USDA, upon her impending retirement.
Director Jeff Kuhl shared, “Ms. Rega has always been a warm and welcoming public servant, willing to share her wisdom and advice on important federal funding opportunities here in Hunterdon County and in the surrounding rural counties. She has been instrumental in helping advance infrastructure development in our county through the fostering of partnerships between the USDA and officials on both the municipal and county level.”
As a Director with the USDA New Jersey Rural Development State Office, Ms. Regas led community and economic development initiatives focused on building prosperous communities in collaboration with community leadership, stakeholders, business organizations and non-profit entities.
Additionally, Ms. Rega was instrumental in advancing issues like clean water, sanity sewer improvements, rural business development, access to affordable housing, and other community services for many residents in Hunterdon County.
Director Kuhl concluded, “Janis will be greatly missed by all of us in Hunterdon County who have had the good fortune of working with her throughout her career. The Board wishes her all the best upon her retirement.”
CEO and President for the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, Chris Phelan was also in attendance to present Ms. Rega with an award for her many years of service and dedication to residents and businesses in the county.
